Tim Buckley, Executive Chairman of the Board Tim is the former chief operating officer for Red Hat (NYSE:RHT), the world's premier open source and Linux provider. As COO, Tim used his insight to accelerate the momentum of open source and expand Red Hat's worldwide business operations. Prior to Red Hat, Tim was senior vice president of worldwide sales at Seattle-based Visio Corporation, where he was instrumental in growing the company from a
start-up to a public company that was acquired by Microsoft for $1.5 billion. During his 20-plus years working with emerging technology companies, Tim has helped launch many other successful start-ups, including Aldus, known for the creation of PageMaker and which was acquired for $525 million and Approach, a PC database company that was sold to Lotus. Tim served on the board of
SmartPath, which was acquired in March 2004 by DoubleClick (Nasdaq:DCLK) and as an advisor to MySQL, which was acquired by Sun Microsystems for $1 billion. He currently serves on the board of
ChannelAdvisor, Revolution Computing and Carpio. Tim graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Liberal Arts.
Michael Skok, Director North Bridge Venture Partners Michael Skok joined North Bridge Venture Partners as a General Partner in 2002. Prior to becoming a VC, Michael was an entrepreneur and CEO in the software business for 21 years. Michael recruited teams that attracted over $100m in private equity for investments in software companies ranging from CAD/CAM, document management, workflow, imaging and collaboration to security and spanning the mini, workstation, PC, client server and Internet eras. In his last CEO role, he co-founded Alphablox, whose team defined the market for analytical applications, now a multi billion-dollar market. After building a trusted brand and earning a loyal customer base among leading global 1000 companies, AlphaBlox was acquired by IBM. Earlier, Michael co-founded European Software Publishing (ESP), which pioneered the off balance sheet model for building software companies in Europe. Michael has served on many private and public company boards as well as supported various industry groups such as the Software Publishers Association where he was Chairman for a number of years in Europe. He is active on the boards of all recent investments including: Acquia (Professional Drupal Open Source), Active Endpoints (Business Process Management System - BPMS), Akiba (Stealth - virtual database for scale out/cloud), Actifio (Stealth - Cloud storage), Awareness (Social Marketing Automation), Demandware (eCommerce, Marketing and Merchandising on Demand), Lumigent (Applications Governance Risk and Compliance), MyPerfectGig (Automated Contingency Search as a Service), rPath (Datacenter automation through automated Release Management), and Unidesk (Desktop Virtualization Management).
David J. Orfao, Director General Catalyst Partners As a Managing Director of General Catalyst Partners, David concentrates on deployment infrastructure, tools, application development and packaged applications within the enterprise software sector with a general interest in creating new methods of distributing software IP, such as open source and software on-demand, among other areas. Prior to joining General Catalyst, David held the positions of President, CEO or Senior VP of Sales, Operations or Marketing for four publicly held companies. Most recently, David led Allaire Corporation from 1997 to 2000 as President, CEO and board member. During his tenure, Allaire grew from a venture-backed start up to a $119M public corporation trading on the NASDAQ. The company pioneered the Internet application server market with industry leading products such as ColdFusion and JRUN. In January of 2001, Allaire merged with MacroMedia Corporation and continues to be a leading Internet software company. He earned a B.A. in Business and Accounting from Norwich University of Vermont.
Andrew Nash, Outside Director Andrew Nash has a background rich in growing and transforming enterprise software and systems integration companies on a global basis over a period of over twenty years. Andrew was formerly CEO of Novaroo, a privately held strategy and advisory services firm. Prior to Novaroo, Andrew served as Chief Operating Officer of BroadVision, where he led the turnaround of this publicly held software enterprise, restructuring and rebuilding the company on a global basis. Andrew previously served
as Chairman and co-founder of Contentra and Chief Executive Officer of Collaborex, Inc. At Baan Company he served in multiple roles - Executive Vice President, Services and board member; President Baan Corporate Office Solutions and CEO, Coda. Prior to Baan, Andrew was a global managing partner and board of management member at Deloitte Consulting/ICS where he built and led the global Baan systems integration practice and commenced, built and led the Asia Pacific SAP systems integration practice.
Andrew serves on the boards and advisory boards of multiple privately held technology companies. Andrew is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and Graduate Diploma in Computing from Chisholm Institute of Technology (now Monash University).
Scott Dietzen, Outside Director Until recently, Scott Dietzen was SVP of Applications for Yahoo!, which he joined through the acquisition of Zimbra, where he served and president and CTO. Prior to Zimbra, Scott was CTO of BEA Systems where he was the principal architect of the technology strategy for the WebLogic product family, which drove the company from $61 million in revenue for the year prior to WebLogic's acquisition to over $1 billion. He was also one of BEA's top spokespersons with customers, business partners, analysts, and the press. Scott came to BEA in 1998 via the $200+ million acquisition of WebLogic, a pioneer in Java and web application technology. He is credited with helping put together the J2EE standard, launching the Web application server category, launching the Java Community Process, and driving the web services collaboration with Microsoft and IBM. Prior to WebLogic, Scott was Principal Technologist for Transarc (acquired by IBM), a developer of distributed transaction and information sharing systems. He earned his Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science and B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.

Mike Torto, Chief Executive Officer Mike Torto joins rPath as a three-time CEO with 20+ years of experience in enterprise software. As CEO of rPath, he leads the company's mission to dramatically reduce the cost and complexity of enterprise application delivery and system management. Prior to rPath, Mike served as CEO of Centive, a leader in on-demand sales compensation software, which was acquired by Xactly Corp. Before Centive, Mike served as president and CEO of InCert Software where he oversaw the company's growth and subsequent acquisition by Geodesic Systems. Previously, Mike was president and CEO of Swan International Inc, which he led to a successful IPO on the European EASDAQ. Earlier in Mike's career, he served in executive-level marketing roles for Interleaf, Intersolv and AICorp. Mike graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in mass communications and marketing from Emerson College in Boston.
Erik Troan, Founder and Chief Technology Officer Prior to founding rPath, Erik served in multiple roles at Red Hat including Vice President of Product Engineering for several years as well as the Senior Director of Marketing and chief developer for Red Hat Software. During his tenure with the company Erik was responsible for leading development for Red Hat Linux, RPM and Anaconda. He managed a multimillion-dollar budget, participated in two public stock offerings and assisted in acquiring and integrating nine other companies. Erik has coauthored two editions of Linux Application Development. At rPath he is responsible for all aspects of product design and implementation and for the company’s IT infrastructure. He holds BS degrees in Computer Science and Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University and a Masters degree in Economics from the University of Virginia.
