rBuilder Online Wind-Down

May 16, 2011

Dear rBuilder Online community,

After five years of offering a free community service, rPath has decided to wind down the rBuilder Online hosted service.

As the first service of its kind, we're proud that rBuilder Online has built a legacy far larger than itself.

However, over the last two years rPath has expanded beyond image generation and invested heavily in capabilities such as active system inventory, system configuration, and system grouping that simply aren't applicable in a free hosted offering.

Instead, we will continue to support the open-source world by offering free rPath software, including all of the new capabilities, to active open-source communities (see below) and by contributing directly to open-source cloud projects such as OpenStack and CloudStack.

What does this mean for you?

What does this mean for rPath?

We continue to grow and thrive...

If you're interested in using rPath Cloud Engine within your organization, please contact us. We would be glad to work with you.
